Cost Effective:

Lumber prices have fluctuated wildly in recent years, making it difficult to predict overall building costs. Stable supply of steel means little fluctuation in price and you get what you paid for. With steel framing the walls remain straight and true. That means fewer callbacks due to nail pops and shrinkage cracks. Steel framing only leaves 95% less waist then wood. Also, steel scrap has value and incurs no tipping fees.

Labor Saving:

Our ICC approved steel studs, joists, tracks, headers, and trusses are pre cut and pre-punched with holes for plumbing and electrical for fast and easy assembly. Smaller framing crews reduce the cost of labor. Our lightweight steel stud systems are generally simpler to erect than wood systems. Crew labor time and costs are drastically reduced compared to wood framing.

Easy to Install:

Cut-to-length material reduces in-field cuts waste up to near zero. Framing members are manufactured with pre-punched holes for running piping and electrical wiring, minimizing preparation work for other trades. Steel's lightweight also makes for easier on-site handling.

Improved Construction Quality:

Galvanized steel studs are corrosion resistant and dimensionally stable, eliminating nail popping and reducing cracking so often associated with wood shrinkage and expansion. Steel studs will not warp, split, rot, settle or attract termites.

Uniform Quality:

Steel studs, track, joists and trusses are all manufactured to strict standards of strength and consistency, ICC approved and CAD designed. Your walls will always be straight and headers will always join properly.

Design Flexibility:

Multiple product dimensions and thickness of steel components give the builder greater flexibility in determining cost-effective framing solutions. Steel can also provide greater strength for longer floor spans and higher walls. Steel's strength allows you to design your home with larger open spaces, giving you the option to build any kind of home from traditional to contemporary to the avant-garde. Steel frame homes can be finished with virtually any kind of material and can be easily remodeled.

Easy to Modify:

Steel framing makes remodeling simpler because complex shapes are easy to fabricate. Homeowner changed his mind again? Simply put the screw gun in reverse and back out the screw.

More Earthquake Resistant:

Steel is a stable material with consistent chemical attributes. Wood, once harvested, begins to dry and shrink causing warps, twists, bows, and cracks that all weakens the wood. Strength of the structure will depend on the quality of connections between studs. Steel framing uses screws that provide a mechanical locking connection. Wood framing connections are made with nails that rely on friction and bending as wood shrinks over time, the amount of friction holding the nail into the wood declines. Steel has a significantly higher strength-to-weight ratio that wood. A steel frame is typically one-third the weight of a wood frame. Consequently, damage through "inertia" will be significantly reduced since there is less weight to move during an earthquake, and less weight that must stop moving. Building codes used in the design of steel framed walls are based on more rigorous testing procedures put into place after the recent California earthquakes of the last decade. Steel framing is more likely that wood to maintain its structural integrity over the long-term because it is impervious to rot, termites and other pests that can slowly degrade the structural integrity of framing members, lessening the ability of a house to withstand seismic forces. Steel is non-combustible and does not contribute fuel to the spread of a fire. This can be an important factor should an earthquake's devastation produce fires, similar to that experienced in both the 1906 San Andreas and 1989 Loma Prieta events in California. The purchase of a home is the single largest investment that most people will ever make. As a result, structural and nonstructural problems during the life of a house can be both finically and emotionally draining. In California, where earthquakes are more frequent and violent than anywhere else in the U.S., the prudent homeowner will take necessary precautions to protect against loss. Building with steel should be considered at the top of the list.

Fire Safety / Non-combustible:

Steel is non-combustible, improving fire safety in compliance with local codes and fire regulations. In fact, construction with light steel framing can actually lower homeowner insurance premiums up to 50%.

Lightning Resistant:

Steel provides better lightening protection because it provides multiple conductive paths directly to the ground.

Termite Proof:

Steel is impervious to termites and other wood-destroying insects. Steel framed homes provide health benefits to the homeowner and the community because they do not require pesticides or other chemicals used to treat wood framing products.

Mold Resistant and No Dry-rot:

Steel does not provide a food source for mold to grow. No twisting popping or cracking around windows and doors which ultimately allow space for moisture to gather.

Energy Efficient:

Steel can provide excellent energy efficiency, because steel is dimensionally stable, it does not expand or contract with humidity changes.

Less Maintenance:

Steel is corrosion resistant and dimensionally stable, eliminating nail popping and reducing cracking which, keeps your home looking new for decades. Doors and windows can open and close easily year round.

Durable:

Homes constructed with steel frames and roofing systems have proven themselves more durable in areas vulnerable to hurricane and earthquake forces. Homes can be designed and built to meet the highest seismic and wind load specifications in any part of the country. Unlike other types of construction materials, steel studs won't warp, twist, split, rot or settle.

Recyclable:

Steel is 100 percent recyclable. There is little waste and no trees will be sacrificed for your framing so nothing goes to the landfill. Environmentally, it just makes sense.
